I have many years’ experience of working as a technical writer (also known as a technical author) in the software industry.
The services I offer include:
- Creating documentation for new products, including (if required) selecting a suitable tool for online and/or print publishing and performing any necessary work in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Migrating content between tools and markup languages, for example from DITA to MadCap Flare, or from XHTML to Markdown
- Creating video tutorials
- Writing user interface text
I can, of course, also help out companies who already have documentation but need help creating new content or updating existing content. I am adept at adhering to existing styles to ensure a seamless experience for readers.
During my career, I have worked with the following tools:
- Adobe Robohelp
- MadCap Flare
- Markdown-based solutions, including Hugo and MkDocs
- Microsoft Word
- Slate
- WordPress
- XMetaL (for DITA content)
Get in touch with your requirements, and I’ll be happy to chat over how I can help.
